Suggestibility Tests

Five short tests you can run on Zoom. Read the words to your partner, watch what happens, and note the response. Then compare it with their Kappas score. All practice apps

How we practice

The practitioner reads the words slowly, in a confident voice, and watches.
The client follows along and keeps the hands or face in view of the camera.
Rate the response, then ask the client what they experienced.
After all five, compare with the Kappas score. Swap roles.

Reading the results

Physical suggestibles tend to respond more to direct, literal tests (hand clasp, eyelids). Emotional suggestibles tend to respond more to imagery (book and balloon, the lemon) and may resist a direct challenge.

One test proves nothing. Look for the pattern.

Care

Always release what you suggested: open the hands, lower the arms, open the eyes.
There is no failing. Every response is information, and a light response is said with the same warmth.
The falling back (postural sway) test is for in person only, with someone catching. Not on Zoom.
